王の遣わされた「別の僕」が婚礼の準備はすでに整っていると告げると、招待された者たちは「気にもとめず」、ある者は畑に、ある者は商売にでかけた。
＜然るに人々顧みずして＞
しかし、招待客は王の僕の招きを顧みなかった。
「顧みず ἀμελέω アメれオー」は「気にもかけない、かえりみない、軽んずる、なおざりにする」で、注意を払わず無視すること。
＜或者は己が畑に、或者は己が商賣に往けり＞
マタイでは「或者は己が畑に、或者は己が商賣に往けり」となっているが、ルカはマタイと違った「言い訳」を記録している。
最初の人は、『わたしは土地を買いましたので、行って見なければなりません。どうぞ、おゆるしください』と言った。
二番目の人は、『わたしは五対の牛を買いましたので、それをしらべに行くところです。どうぞ、おゆるしください』と言い。
三番目の人は、『わたしは妻をめとりましたので、参ることができません』と、王の婚宴に行けない言い訳をした。

＜或者は己が畑に、或者は己が商賣に往けり＞
畑も商売も日常の営みである。招待客は王の招きよりも、日常の営みを優先する。

「神の招待状」
神の招待状がとどいたら、直ちに応じなければならない。神の言葉は「その時」に書きとめなければ、記憶にとどまることもない。招待状が届いたら、仕事の手を休め、婚宴の席につき、喜びの宴を味わえ。
招待状は、いつも思わぬところに届く。

農夫が畑仕事を、商人が行商を後回しにすべきではない。王の招待は彼らをよりよき農夫、よりよき商人とするのである。

「気にもとめず ἀμελέω アメれオー」は「気にもかけない、かえりみない、軽んずる、なおざりにする」で、注意を払わず無視すること。
マタイは「或者は己が畑に、或者は己が商賣に往けり」となっているが、ルカはマタイと違った「言い訳」を記録している。
最初の人は、『わたしは土地を買いましたので、行って見なければなりません。どうぞ、おゆるしください』と言った。
二番目の人は、『わたしは五対の牛を買いましたので、それをしらべに行くところです。どうぞ、おゆるしください』と言い。
三番目の人は、『わたしは妻をめとりましたので、参ることができません』と、王の婚宴に行けない言い訳をした。

畑も商売も日常の営みである。招待客は王の招きよりも、日常の営みを優先する。
神からの「招待状」が届いたら、日常の営みを止めて、身をととのえて「喜びの席」に向かうべきである。
決断のときに、ある人々は「いずれまた」と軽く手を振って立ち去る。その「いずれまた」は決してやってこないと知るべきである。
