異教徒の中に神の民イスラエルにも見出せないような深い信仰を見ることがある。
彼らは神殿にも神の言葉にも遠く、異教の神々に従う民であるにも関わらず、聖書の神に直接結びつくような信仰に導かれる。
異教徒もまた「神のかたちに創られた人間」であることに変わりはない。
神に創られた者としてその存在に「神的な知識を内包している」のではないだろうか。
ユダヤ人であっても異邦人であっても、人が生ける神に導かれ、信仰を告白するのは、聖霊のお働きによる。
