イエスが最後の夜をすごされたのがオリブ山のどこかはわからない。

過越の食事が終わると、イエスと弟子たちは賛美歌を歌い、オリブ山に登った。このとき歌われた「賛美歌」はハレルヤ詩篇（詩篇113~118篇）であったろうと信じられている。
「ヱホバをほめまつれ汝等ヱホバの僕よほめまつれヱホバの名をほめまつれ
今より永遠にいたるまでヱホバの名はほむべきかな
日のいづる處より日のいる處までヱホバの名はほめらるべし

イエスは讃美歌を歌いながらオリブ山を登って行かれた。神の聖名と栄光を賛美しながら、逮捕される場となるオリブ山を登られたのである。
