「イエス語り終え給う」
イエスは語るべきすべての言葉を「語り終え」られた。私は聞くべきすべての言葉を「聞いた」だろうか？
神は「終わりまで」語られる。私たちは神の言葉を途中で遮ることなく、終わりまで聞かなければならない。

「神のご計画」
十字架は突然の悲劇ではなかった。イエスは語るべき言葉を全て終えられて十字架に向かわれたのである。
イエスを殺害せんとする人間の計画も、すでに神の救済の計画に含まれた事柄である。

イエスは多くのことば（マタイ21:23~25:46）を語り終えられて、弟子たちに迫っている十字架について語られた。十字架にかかられる3日前のことである。
マタイ21:23~46の祭司長、民の長老たち、パリサイ人たちとの論争の後、人々はイエスを十字架に処刑するために捕らえる計画が動き始めていた。続くイエスとサドカイ人たちとの論争にも人々はイエスに一言も答えることができぬままにイエスから立ち去った。
祭司長、民の長老たち、パリサイ人たちのイエス逮捕の計画は後戻りできないものとなって、この日から、わずか3日後にはイエスはゴルゴダの丘に二人の強盗とともに処刑されることを、イエスはご存知であった。
イエスのことばを聞く者たちのうち誰一人、最もイエスの近くにいた弟子たちでさえも、その事実に気づくことはなかった。だれもが、イエスがいつまでも、語り続けられると信じてしまう。十字架の出来事はいつまでも起こらないことを心の底では思ってしまう。しかし、十字架は目前にあり、イエスはそれを避けようともなさらないのが事実である。私達もイエスの十字架から少しでも目をそらすことは許されない。
イエスの十字架と復活から目をそらす者は、自己から目をそらせるのであり、そのためにイエスの十字架にこようとしないのである。
十字架と復活のない信仰は空しい。
