天と地は過ぎ去る。しかし、神のことばは過ぎ去ることはない。「過ぎ去る παρέρχομαι パレルこマイ」は「通過する、消えゆく、滅びる」の意味。天地は「通過し、消え去り、滅ぶ」、しかし神の言葉は「通過し、消え去り、滅びゆく」ことはない。
信仰を導く唯一のものは神のことばである。天と地は常に変化し、時代は時代へと過ぎ去っていく。しかし、時を新しく刻むのは神のことばである。創造の神は、今に至るまで、そして、これからも、創造の業は永遠に続く。
