「仲間に教える」
先輩の牧師は「宣教は思わぬ食料にありついた乞食が、仲間に『あそこに行くと食料が手に入るよ』と教えるようなことだ」と語った。しかし、それにはそこが汲めども尽きない泉のような食料を入手できる場所だと知る必要があろう。そこが僅かに自分の食料を賄うに足りるほどのところなら、どうして仲間の乞食にその場所を教えるだろうか。

この御言葉は教会の世界宣教の招きとして、常に引用され、教会の宣教を励ました。しかし、まだ「地上のあらゆる民族」に福音が伝えられていないので「終りの日」はまだ来ないという主張は間違いである。また、「地上のあらゆる民族」に聖書が配布されれば「終りの日」に近づくというのも、同じ理由で間違いである。「御国の福音」が「すべての民に証し」されたかどうかをわれわれは判断することが出来ないからである。教会のなすべきことは、一人の人が一人の人に「御国の福音」を確かな証しを立てることである。その業によってのみ「御国の福音」は全世界に宣べ伝えられる。
