ヘロデの神殿には100トンを超える巨石が使われていた。しかしイエスは「それらの巨石はことごとく崩され、一つとして残ることもなくなる日が来る」と告げられる。（ルカ21:6）AD70年、ローマ帝国との間に起こったユダヤ戦争によってエルサレムは陥落し、ヘロデの神殿は土台に一つの石も残さぬ程に完全に破壊され、イエスの告げられた通りになった。

「何をながめているのか？」
イエスは弟子たちに「あなたは、これらの大きな建物をながめているのか」（マルコ13:2）と言われる。
私は時々、イエスが「あなたは、何をながめているのか？」とお尋ねになるのを聞くことがある。イエスを見ずに、「大きな建物」をながめているのだ。

「権力の構造物」
人間の権力の構造物は、いつかその礎石にいたるまで徹底的に破壊される。「なんぢら鼻より息のいでいりする人に倚ることをやめよ斯るものは何ぞかぞふるに足らん」 イザヤ2:22 明治元訳聖書

「神の宮」
決して破壊されることのない神殿は「私」の内に建てられる。その白く輝く「神の宮」は終わりなく建て上げられる。人は「神の宮」である。私の内なる「神の座」は崩され、主は廃墟に座してはおられないか？

「宣教と破壊」
2015年9月、シリアのパルミラにある約2000年前に建立されたベル神殿の遺跡が破壊された。シリアでは他にも多くの遺跡が破壊され、貴重な文化遺産が売りさばかれている。かつて遺跡のあったところには「一つの石も残されずに」崩され瓦礫の山になった。
「異教の神殿」を破壊するのは正しい信仰の行為ではない。破壊を命じる信仰を認めることはできない。しかし、私たちの宣教はしばしば破壊を聖なる行為と教えなかったか？

エルサレムの神殿を指さす弟子たちに、イエスは「その石一つでもくずされずに、そこに他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」と告げられた。
イエスはヘロデの神殿を「あれをご覧なさい」と指差す弟子たちに、「あなたがたはこれらのすべて（あらんかぎり､全部を、純粋に）見て（凝視して、じっと見て、見分け、経験で知って、熟考して）いるのか」と問われる。
「神の宮」について、そのすべてを（あらんかぎり､全部を、純粋に）見て（凝視し、じっと見て、見分け、経験で知り、熟考し）なければならない。神は人の手で造られた宮に住み給わず、その宮は目に見れる宮ではなく、「イエスの身体なる宮」である。
イエスはエルサレムの神殿をご覧になり、「それらの巨石はことごとく崩され、一つとして残ることもなくなる日が来る」と告げられ、（ルカ21:6）AD70年、ローマ帝国との間に起こったユダヤ戦争によってエルサレムは陥落し、ヘロデの神殿は土台に一つの石も残さぬ程に完全に破壊された。イエスの告げられた通りである。
信じる者よ、心の「エルサレムの神殿」をことごとく毀て。その土台の石の一つも残してはならい。新しい神の宮が立ち上がったからである。
