イエスをことばの罠にかけようとしてやって来たパリサイ人とヘロデ党の人々は、イエスの言葉に群衆が感嘆するのを聞いて、何もすることができず、立ち去った。

「怪しみ θαυμάζω たウマゾー」は「驚き怪しむ」の意味である。
ルカ福音書は「そこで彼らは、民衆の前でイエスの言葉じりを捕えることができず、その答に驚嘆して、黙ってしまった」（ルカ20:26）と記している。
＜イエスを離れて去り往けり＞
彼らはイエスをそこに残して退散せざるを得なかった。群衆がパリサイ派、ヘロデ党へのイエスの言葉を聞いて「感嘆」したからである。

「驚き怪しむ」
パリサイ派とヘロデ党の人々はイエスの言葉に驚き怪しみ、イエスを残して立ち去る。
彼らは神の言葉に「驚き怪しみ」ながら、神から遠ざかる。驚嘆必ずしも信仰ならず。
真に驚くべきは、神の言葉に「驚き怪しむ」こともない心である。そこには「遠ざかる神」すらいない。

イエスをことばの罠にかけようとしてやって来たパリサイ人とヘロデ党の人々は、イエスの言葉に群衆が感嘆するのを聞いて、何もすることができず、立ち去った。
「怪しみ θαυμάζω たウマゾー」は「驚き怪しむ」の意味である。
ルカ福音書は「そこで彼らは、民衆の前でイエスの言葉じりを捕えることができず、その答に驚嘆して、黙ってしまった」（ルカ20:26）と記している。
彼らはイエスをそこに残して退散せざるを得なかった。群衆がパリサイ派、ヘロデ党へのイエスの言葉を聞いて「感嘆」したからである。
パリサイ人とヘロデ党の人々の仕掛けた罠は裏目にでてしまった。
パリサイ人とヘロデ党の人々の仕掛けた罠は、イエスを追い詰めるどころか、やり取りを聞いていた群衆からイエスへの感嘆の声をひきだすことになったのである。
