「ロバの子」
ロバは乏しい餌でも頑丈に育つ家畜だった。頑固で融通のきかない性格から「愚鈍」の象徴とされた。愚鈍なほどに忍耐強く、ナポレオンを乗せてアルプスを越えたのは、愛馬マレンゴではなくロバだったという。

「見るべき姿なし」
古墳時代の遺跡から副葬品として馬形埴輪が出土する。たてがみを整え、さまざまの飾り金具がつけられた見事な馬の埴輪である。豪華な乗り物が、それを所有した人の社会的身分をあらわしている。
しかし、「見るべき姿」のないことがメシアのしるしである。
