イエスのことばに心を痛めた富める青年は、ついにことばを遮って、「我みな之を守れり、なほ何を缺くか」と叫んだ。
＜我みな之を守れり＞
「守ってきました φυλάσσω ふゆらスソー」は「羊の番をする」から来た言葉。この青年は、羊飼いが注意深く羊を見張るように、律法を守ってきた。
＜なほ何を缺くか＞
「欠ける ὑστερέω ヒゆステレオー」は「取り逃がす、劣る、不足する」こと。

「青年」
富める若者は「青年 νεανίσκος ネアニスコス」と呼ばれる。この言葉には「若者らしい、活発な、素晴らしい」という意味と共に「無遠慮な、尊大な」の意味をもっている。「若者」はどの時代にも遠慮なく、尊大に振る舞う。それが若者らしさであり、素晴らしさでもある。

若い時に謙遜を学ばなかった者は、老いてから苦労するものだ。
謙遜を身につけるのに、若い時代はさして苦労はしないが、老いてからは苦痛になるのだ。
仕事の出来る人は謙虚である。

イエスのことばに心を痛めた富める青年は、ついにことばを遮って、「我みな之を守れり、なほ何を缺くか」と叫んだ。
「守ってきました φυλάσσω ふゆらスソー」は「羊の番をする」から来た言葉。
富める青年は、イエスが告げる十戒の一つ一つに、「そのような教えは、羊飼いが注意深く羊を見張るように、守ってきた！」と自分を確認するように告げた。「なほ何を缺くか！」と。
「欠ける ὑστερέω ヒゆステレオー」は「取り逃がす、劣る、不足する」の意味である。
人が神に「なほ何を缺くか！」と叫ぶとき、すでに彼は「欠けるもの」が何であるかを知っている・
富める青年は「父と母とを敬へ」また「己のごとく汝の隣を愛すべし」という二つの戒めに欠ける自分が分かっていた。だからこそ、それを告げられると人は怒り、「我みな之を守れり」と叫ぶのである。
富める青年がイエスをみれば、青年を見つめるイエスの目は決して怒ってはおられないことがわかるだろう。
