「幼子」
イエスは「幼子」を祝福される。天の国は「このような者たちのものである」。
「幼子」はただ弱く可愛い存在ではない。子どもは「未熟な大人」ではなく「一個の完全な人間」である。子どもの時代にしか現われない「人間」というものを所有している。人は大人になっても、それを失うことはない。成熟の力であり続ける。

スーパーで切り裂くような「幼子の叫び声」を聞くと耳を塞ぎたくなる。イエスは自分の欲しい菓子一つが与えられぬことに抗議して極限の声を発する幼子を腕に抱かれるだろうか？

同時に、イエスが幼子を呼び寄せられたことの意味を知らなければならない。（ルカ18:16）
「幼子」は素直さを象徴するだけではなく、「幼子」の存在そのものが神の祝福の対象であったことの意味である。
人には誰でも、かつて、「幼子」として、そのままの存在で、神の祝福を受けた時代がある。成長するとともに、その時代は人から遠ざかる。それはすっかり失われたのだろうか？ そうではない。人は自分の内に、神の祝福を受けるいのちのあることを知るべきではないだろうか？
人はいかなる人も神に祝福を受けた存在なのだ。
イエスが懐に抱かれた「幼子」は、「内なる幼子」としての私である。
