「牢役人 βασανιστής バサニステース」は「糾明者、拷問者」の意味であり、王の家来は最後の一銭を支払うまで投獄されることになった。

「投獄」
家来の借財は残りの生涯で支払うことのできる額ではなかった。それでも家来が獄に入れられたのは、借財以外のものを主人に返済するためであった。家来がこれから牢で支払わせられるのは「借金」だけではない。

王は怒り、僕を1万タラントの借金のすべてを支払うまで投獄した。
「牢役人 βασανιστής バサニステース」は「糾明者、拷問者」の意味であり、王の家来は最後の一銭を支払うまで投獄されることになった。
王の「許し」に対して、わずかの負債を許せなかった僕の受けた「罰」は途方もなく重かった。彼は裁判にかけられて有罪となった。たとえ一生をかけても返済はできなかったろう。
一度許されれば永劫に許されると信じることは愚かである。
「許し」とは「許し」を維持することである。
一度は許されて、再び許しの道を閉ざされることがあってはならない。そのような人はまだ、「許し」の意味が理解できていないのである。
