王の期待は王のごとくに生きる者となることにある。神が私の罪を赦されるのは、罪を憎むためではなく、罪を赦す者となるためである。

ベン＝シラの書に「受けんがためになんじの手をのばすな。返済のときこれを引き込むな」（ベン＝シラ４：３１）といわれている。これに言及した『十二使徒の教え』（『ディダケー（教え）Didach,』）の脚注には「もらうときに手を出すのなら、返すときには出し渋るな」とある。
貰うことに遠慮はないが、出すのは舌もいやという人を信用するな。

王は僕に「わが汝を憫みしごとく、汝もまた同僚を憫むべきにあらずや」と問いかけられる。
王はお前の1万タラントを許したのだから、お前は同僚の百デナリくらい許せと言ったのではない。
「わたしがお前を憐れんでやったように、お前も自分の仲間を憐れんでやるべきではなかったか」と言うのである。
王の期待は王のごとくに生きる者となることにある。
神が私の罪を赦されるのは、私が神のなされたように「完全に許す」ことである。
完全に許された人は完全に許すことができる。それによって彼は「完全な許し」を知るのである。
