イエスは弟子たちに御自分が「人々の手に渡されようとしている」と告知される。十字架は目前に迫っていた。
それは「確実に来る」ものであった。
マタイ16:21で、イエスはすでに「苦しみを受け、三日目によみがえるべきこと」について弟子たちに語られている。再び、告知されるのは、十字架と復活の確実なることと、その事柄の重要なることを弟子たちに教えられるためであった。

「再びの予告」
マタイ16:21で、イエスはすでに「苦しみを受け、三日目によみがえるべきこと」について弟子たちに語られている。イエスが弟子たちに再び告げられた。私はかつて「イエスの十字架と復活」を聞いた。しかし、再び聞かなければならない。
なぜ、神の子イエスが十字架に死なれたのか。その意味がわかるために、イエスは幾度もの「再び」を私に与えられる。私から「再び」が消えるとき、イエスは私と何のかかわりもなくなってしまう。

弟子たちがガリラヤに集まったとき、イエスは弟子たちに、ご自分が捕らわれることを告げられた。
十字架は目前に迫っていた。それは「確実に来る」ものであった。
マタイ16:21で、イエスはすでに「苦しみを受け、三日目によみがえるべきこと」について弟子たちに語られている。再び、告知されるのは、十字架と復活の確実なることと、その事柄の重要なることを弟子たちに教えられるためであった。
イエスを十字架の処刑によってなき者にしようとするパリサイ人たちと律法学者たちの計画が動き始めているこ
とは事実である。もしイエスがそれを避けようとされるなら、手段はいくつもあった。
しかし、イエスは「人の子は人々の手に引き渡されよう」と十字架が確実なものとして、避けようとはなさらなかった。
十字架の苦難はパリサイ人たちと律法学者たちがイエスを十字架の苦難に追い込むのではなく、イエスご自身が十字架に向かわれるかのごとくである。しかし、イエスは苦悩なしに十字架に向かわれるのではない。
ゲッセマネの園でイエスは「できることなら十字架を過ぎ去らせてください」と祈っておられる。
「そして少し進んで行き、うつぶしになり、祈って言われた、「わが父よ、もしできることでしたらどうか、この杯をわたしから過ぎ去らせてください。しかし、わたしの思いのままにではなく、みこころのままになって下さい」 マタイ26:39 口語訳聖書
十字架は「神の御心」によってイエスに来たのである。
