霊的な会話は「雲に覆われ」、それ以上人間が聞くことをゆるされない時点があり、栄光の雲のうちに隠されたのである。人間はそこにとどまり、神の「愛する子」のことばに聞く。

モーセとエリヤがイエスと語り合った「イエスがエルサレムで遂げようとする最後のこと」（ルカ9:31）は神の心に適っていた。イエスの十字架は「神の御心から出て」「御心に適う」出来事であった。
