「願のごとく汝になれ」
イエスは「あなたの望むようにあなたになるように」と言われ、「そのときから、彼女の娘は癒された」とある。
イエスの「あなたの望むようにあなたになるように」は「わたしの望み」を試す。私はイエスに何も望みもしないで祈ることがあるからである。
カナンの女の信仰の大きさはここにある。

「大なる哉汝の信仰」
イエスは女に「汝の信仰は大なるかな、（「大なる哉汝の信仰」ラゲ訳聖書）」と告げられる。
カナンの女は自らを小さくした。それが大いなることであった。

カナンの女の信仰に驚かれ、イエスは「をんなよ、汝の信仰は大なるかな、願のごとく汝になれ」と告げられた。するとその時、カナンの女の娘の病は癒された。

イエスがカナンの女に「女の人、あなたの信仰は大きい。望みがかなえられるように」と言われ、「お帰りなさい。悪霊は娘から出てしまった」と告げられた時、イエスの前にいたカナンの女は「娘の病が癒された」ことを知らない。
カナンの女が急いで家に戻ったのは、イエスの言葉を信じたからである。そして、家についてみると、「その子は床の上に寝ており、悪霊は出てしまっていた。」（マルコ7:29~30）のである。
イエスはカナンの女の応答に、「その言葉で、じゅうぶんである」（マルコ8:28 口語訳聖書）と言われた。
「あなたの信仰は大きい μέγας メガス」は 「驚くべき大きさ」を意味する。
「大きな信仰」とは、まだその事実を見ないが信じる信仰である。
「イエスは彼に言われた、『あなたはわたしを見たので信じたのか。見ないで信ずる者は、さいわいである』」 ヨハネ20:29 口語訳聖書
「そこで、あなたがたに言うが、なんでも祈り求めることは、すでにかなえられたと信じなさい。そうすれば、そのとおりになるであろう。」 マルコ 11:24 口語訳聖書
