イエスは群衆を呼び寄せられ、パリサイ人や律法学者たちの教えに迷わされないように警告される。
＜聞いて悟れ＞
「聞く ἀκούω アクーオー 傾聴する、伝え聞く、耳を傾ける、聞き従う」は、「理解する συνίημι スゆニエーミ 合点する、理解する、悟る、気づく、了解する」である。「聞いても悟らない」のは「見ても見ず、聞いても聞かない」（マタイ13:13）のである。

仏語の「悟り」は「迷いを去って物事の本質を見極める」ことである。ギリシャ語の「悟り συνίημι スゆニエーミ」は「σύν 共に ＋ ἵημι （言葉を）発する」で、「争う、闘う」の意味を含む。
「悟り συνίημι スゆニエーミ」は共に言葉を交わし、厳しい闘いの末に起こる「気づき、認め、理解する、分かる」である。
「傾聴」は黙して聴きながら、神と厳しい言葉を交わしている。

「聞いて悟れ」

すべてのことが人に現わされているのではない。私たちには「聞く」が「隠されている」ことがある。
