「告げる ἐρεύγομαι エレウゴマイ」は元来「おくびを出すこと」の意味であった。神は「おくび」を出すように、「隠されたこと」をその口から出される。それは神の内奥から出てくる想いである。

イエスが譬えによって神の国の福音を語られたことは、イエスが預言者の預言したメシアであることのあかしであった。
イエスは預言の通りに口をひらき、譬えをもって「世の創より隱れたる事」について語らたのである。
「世の始め καταβολή カタボれー」は「καταβάλλω 投げ倒す」からきたもので「下へ置く、種を蒔く、生みつける、基礎を据える、基、初め」を意味する。「いにしえから」隠されていた「言い伝え」（詩篇78:2 フランシスコ会訳では「いにしえからの神秘」）である。
イエスが譬えによって語られたのは、「世の創より隱れたる事」である。今やそれはすべての人の聞くところとなった。
「かたくなで、そむく者のやからとなり、その心が定まりなく、その魂が神に忠実でない者」であってはならない。（詩篇78:4）
