＜イエス彼らの思を知りて言ひ給ふ『すべて分れ爭ふ國はほろび、分れ爭ふ町また家はたたず＞
イエスはパリサイ人たちがイエスを悪霊ベルゼブルの仲間というのを知られて、御自分がむしろ悪霊に敵対する者であることを示して、「すべて分れ爭ふ國はほろび、分れ爭ふ町また家はたたず」という喩えを語られる。
＜すべて分れ爭ふ國はほろび、分れ爭ふ町また家はたたず＞
もしイエスがファリサイ派の主張するように悪霊の頭であれば、その頭たるイエスが仲間の悪霊を追い出すことになり、それは悪霊の内部分裂を意味することになる。ファリサイ派の主張ははじめから破綻している。
＜すべて分れ爭ふ國はほろび＞
「内輪で争う καθ᾽ καθ᾽ ἑαυτῆς」は、 原文「自分自身に逆らって分れ争えば」である。

「人間の思い」
イエスの業をベルゼブルの力に置き換えてみせるのは愚かである。しかし、それがいかにバカげた思考であっても神は「人間の思い」を知られる。

「内輪で争う」
「内輪で争う καθ᾽ καθ᾽ ἑαυτῆς」は「自分自身の内が部分にわかれ、分裂し、争いが生ずる」こと。内部に対立が生ずれば、組織は立ち行かない。
内部抗争は「己自らに逆らいて分かれ争う」（永井訳）ことである。

国家であれ、町であれ、家であれ、内で分裂があれば、それによって滅んでしまう。
もしイエスがパリサイ人たちが主張するように悪霊の頭であれば、その頭たるイエスが仲間と対立し、追放することになって、悪霊の内部分裂を意味することになるだろう。
これによって、パリサイ人たちの主張ははじめから破綻していることになる。
イエスは悪霊と共存するような信仰は認められない。
日本人の精神には「神々」が今も生きていることを考えるとき、イエスの信仰に導かれる者は、「神々」を認める信仰の在りようを問われるのである。
日本人の精神の深みに聖書のことばがとどくとき、心の闇にひそむものが強い光に照らされるであろう。
神の民であるユダヤ人の世界でも、悪霊との決別は容易になされることではなかったのである。
悪霊との決別は、新たな光の中で永い時間をかけて、神の御霊によってなされていくであろう。
