「烈しく攻む βιαστής ビアステース」は「βιάζω 烈しく襲う」からくる言葉で、「暴力で襲う、激しく攻める、力づくで進む、無理に突入する」の意味である。
神の国を求める者は、暴力的なまでの熱意をもって求める者でなければならない。
暴力的なまでの「渇き」を内に持つ者が神の水を飲むことができる。
人は自分に「暴力的なまでの渇き」のないことを認めなければならない。
「暴力的なまでの渇き」は人が神に出会うまでは、人に来ることはない。それは神が恵みとして人の魂に与えられる渇きである。
「そのとき、イエスはこう言われた。「天地の主であられる父よ。あなたをほめたたえます。これらのことを、賢い者や知恵のある者には隠して、幼子たちに現してくださいました」 マタイ11:25 新改訳聖書
神は「魂の深い渇き」を「賢い者や知恵のある者」には隠し、「幼子」に現わされる。
