＜されど彼ら出でて、あまねくその地にイエスの事をいひ弘めたり＞
イエスは目の癒された二人の男たちに、「愼みて誰にも知らすな」と厳しく戒められた。しかし、彼らは従わず、自分たちの身におきた出来事をその地方全体に触れ廻った。

バルバロ訳聖書「ところが、彼らは出るやいなや、その地方一帯にこの話を言い広めた」二人の男はイエスの言葉を全く無視し、「彼らは出るやいなや、その地方一帯にこの話を言い広めた」。
目の見える喜びを抑えることはできなかった。
しかし、彼らのしたことは、イエスが厳しく戒められたことを裏切る行為であった。

「信仰の善意」
「だれにも知らせてはいけない」と厳しく命じられたにもかかわらず、男たちはイエスのことを「その地方一帯」に言い広める。その行為はファリサイ派をいたく刺激し、イエスへの反感が強まった。（マタイ9:34）
善意の行為は、たとえそれが信仰から出たとしても必ずしも良き実を結ばない。しかし、これもまた神の業である。

「見えるということ」
彼らは目が不自由な間はイエスをよく見た。しかし、目が見えるようになるとイエスの言葉が見えにくくなった。
目は見えるようになったが、しかし、耳は聞くことを止めてしまった。
目が開かれることは偉大な出来事であったが、見るには聞き続けなければならなかった。

イエスは目の癒された二人の男たちに、「愼みて誰にも知らすな」と厳しく戒められた。しかし、彼らは従わず、自分たちの身におきた出来事をその地方全体に触れ廻った。
バルバロ訳聖書「ところが、彼らは出るやいなや、その地方一帯にこの話を言い広めた」
彼らはイエスのおられる家から「出るやいなや」身に起こった出来事を語り始め、それは瞬く間にその地方全体に広まった。
その結果、それはイエスに反感をもつパリサイ派の人々や祭司たちを刺激し、イエスへ反感を強めることになったのである。
目の見える喜びを抑えることはできなかったのである。
その気持ちを咎めることはできない。
しかし、善意から生じる人の押さえ難い気持ちも、反対の結果を生じることになることがある。
信仰は人の心根で動いてはいけないところがある。
二人の目の見えない男たちの「目」は開かれた。しかし、彼らは目が見えるようになると、イエスの言葉が見えにくくなってしまった。目は見えるようになったが耳は聞くことを止めてしまったのである。
「見る」は「聞く」ことでなければならない。
