罪をゆるされ、病を癒された男は床を担いで自分の足で歩いて家に帰った。

ルカは「病人は即座にみんなの前で起きあがり」と観察している。（ルカ5:25）
男は寝ていた床を担いで「みんなの前を出て行ったので、一同は大いに驚き、神をあがめて、「こんな事は、まだ一度も見たことがない」と言った。（マルコ2:12）
「みんなの者は驚嘆してしまった。そして神をあがめ、おそれに満たされて、「きょうは驚くべきことを見た」と言った」（ルカ5:26）

「医者ルカ」
医者であったルカは中風を患う男が「即座にみんなの前で起きあがった」（ルカ5:25）と癒しを医師の目で観察している。
「専門の目」は、しばしば、物事を深く観察し、その意味を引き出す。信仰もまた、それぞれの「専門の目」によって通常では見えないところが明らかにされる。
「専門の目」を持つ人にはその勤めがある。神が恵みとして与えられた「目」である。

「それまで自分の居た床」
中風を患っていた男は、それまで自分を拘束していた「床」を担いで帰る。罪赦された者は自分の「悩みの場」を担いで帰る。彼はもはやそれを必要としない。彼は誇らしげに「それまで自分の居た床」を担ぐだろう。それは新しい自分を証しする床となる。

男は中風を患い、長い年月をその上で過ごしていた「床」から立ち上がり、床を担いで家に帰って行った。
「立ち上がる ἐγείρω エゲイロー」は「眠りからさます、目を覚ます、立ち上がる」の意味である。
この語は使徒3:15では「甦る、復活する、生き返る」の意味で復活されたイエスに用いられている。

病の床から立ち上がった男は新しい人に「よみがえらせられた、復活した」のである。
寝ていた床を担いで家に戻っていく男を見て人々は、「一同は大いに驚き、神をあがめて、『こんな事は、まだ一度も見たことがない』と言った。」（マルコ2:12）
「みんなの者は驚嘆してしまった。そして神をあがめ、おそれに満たされて、「きょうは驚くべきことを見た」と言った」（ルカ5:26）
人の罪がゆるされることは、新しい人に甦ることである。人々が真に驚くべきは病の癒しであるよりも、そのことであった。
私たちもまた、癒しよりも罪からの解放、復活の福音にこそ驚くべきである。
