イエスのことばは、語り終えたとき、即「成し遂げられ、成就し、実現し、実行され、達成」される。イエスの言葉を聞くとき、即、ことばは「私」に「成し遂げられ、成就し、実現し、実行され、達成」されるのである。

「非常に驚いた」
「非常に驚いた ἐκπλήσσω エクプれースソー」は「πλήσσω 打つ」からくる言葉。イエスのことばは群衆を「（驚き、喜びなどで）仰天させる、叩き出す、追い出す、我を忘れる、驚愕する、茫然とする、打ちのめす」した。人を「πλήσσω プレスソー 打つ」ものこそが創造の力である。
だが、イエスの言葉を「群衆」のところに止めてはいけない。「群衆」から「私」に届いた時、「πλήσσω プレスソー 打つ」力が働き始める。
私が「群衆」の中に身を置く限り、イエスの言葉は「驚く」以上のことはおこらない。「会衆」から離れ、一人イエスの前に立て。

山上の垂訓は終わった。イエスは群衆が集まるのをご覧になって山に登り、弟子たちに多くの言葉を語られた。それらはイエスが弟子たちに語られたものであったが、そこに集まっていた群衆も聞いて、イエスの教えに心底驚いたのである。
イエスの言葉は弟子たちにも群衆にもわかりやすいものであった。
説教者の初心者にわかるようにと「噛み砕く」ような物言いはむしろ聞く者の心に残らない。さりとて、専門的な知識がなければ分からないようなわかりにくいものであってもならない。
真の説教者の言葉は初心者にも経験深き者にも、共にその心の深みに届く。
説教者はまず自分自身に対して真実に語る者でなければならない。
