偽預言たちは神の民に向かって、神の名によって預言し、神の名によって惡鬼を追い出し、神の名によって多くの奇跡をおこす。
＜その日おほくの者われに對ひて＞
「かの日 ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ」は「審判の日」である。
「各人（おのおの）の工（わざ）は顯（あらは）るべし。かの日これを明かにせん、かの日は火をもつて顯れ、その火おのおのの工（わざ）の如何（いかん）を驗（ため）すべければなり」 Ⅰコリント3:13 大正文語訳聖書

「祈り」はより強い名を用いれば効力も強いと考えられた。信じてもいない「神の名」を持ち出し、それによって預言し、悪霊を追い出し、奇跡をおこす者もいた。それは呪術的世界であって、イエスの認めるところではない。
＜多くの能力ある業＞
「奇跡 miracle」は人間の苦悩に働く「力あるわざ」である。（マタイ11:20）
英語 miracle の語根 mir- はラテン語、ギリシャ語 「miror = to wonder（驚く）, to behold（見る）」である。
イエスは「奇跡」がおこなわれることよりも、何の権威によって行われたかを問題にされている。奇跡の事実よりも、その目的と意味が問われている。

「呪術的信仰」
呪術的信仰によってもたらされる超自然的業の多くはまやかしである。しかし、呪術的信仰が超自然的業をおこしたとしても驚くことではない。それによって証しされるものも「まやかし」である。

「御名によって奇跡をいろいろ行なう者」は大勢いる。その中には「敬虔な聖徒」も含まれていることを知っておく必要がある。彼らは奇跡のために「御名」を利用する。彼らのもとには信仰ではなく奇跡を求めて歩き回る者が大勢集まる。

「偽預言者と教会」

「その日」は「審判の日」である。

神の審判の日にも、「神の名によって預言している」「神の名によって悪霊を追い出せる」「神の名によって奇跡を沢山行っている」と主張する偽預言者が「大勢」いる。
すべて神を畏れる信徒は、これらの「神の名によって、預言し、悪霊追い出し、奇跡をおこす」と主張し、それらを「見せて」神の民を惑わす者を見分けなければならない。彼らはそれらの「霊的能力」によって民を惑わす呪術的信仰の偽預言者である。
今日の教会にも多くの「偽預言者」の働きが隠されていることを知っておくべきである。
