＜なんぢの財寶のある所には、なんぢの心もあるべし＞
価値あるものを虫も錆も損なうことのない天にたくわえるのは、価値あるものに、その人の心があるからである。
自分の心を知りたければ、自分が何に価値を見出しているかを知ればよい。
＜なんぢの財寶のある所には＞
「富 」は τίθημι「納める、安置する」から来る言葉で「貯蔵室、宝庫、財宝」を意味する。宝を入れる箱が「富」である。
＜なんぢの心もあるべし＞
「心 καρδία カルディア」は「精神生活の中心、内的生命、理解力、感情、精神、思考、真情、人格、性格、たましい、意思、活力、心臓」を意味し、人間存在の中心をなす。

「富」
「富」は τίθημι「納める、安置する」から来る言葉で「貯蔵室、宝庫、財宝」を意味する。宝を入れる箱が「富」である。
「富」は宝の入った容器である。そこには財宝が入れてある。そこに蓄えられたものを見れば「心」がわかる。
「宝」をおさめる場所を見出す人は幸いである。それが彼の何よりの「宝」である。

「心」
「心 καρδία カルディア」は 「精神生活の中心、理解力、感情、気持ち、精神、思考、真情」である。「虫も錆も盗人も」損なうことのできない富とは「私」であり、「私」のあるところには「心」もある。「富 θησαυρός テーサウロス」には「貯蔵室、倉庫」の意味もある。「私」とは蓄え豊かな「貯蔵室、倉庫」である。そこからとりだすものは何でも値尊き「宝」である。

「私」
「心」にとまるものがすべて「富」とはいえない。というのは「私」というものが消えていく「富」というものもあるからだ。それらは決して「宝」ではない。
真の「富」と言えるのは「私」であろう。それは腐食することなく、盗まれることなく、蓄えるに値する。「私」のあるところに「心」がある。

「正しく使う」
「富」も「知」も貯えるだけでは意味がない。富も知恵も正しく使われることで意味ある宝となる。

人の心が向くもの、常に意識が注がれるものが、その人の「財宝」である。
したがって「財宝」はその人の心のあり方、その価値観を明らかにする。
「財宝」は蓄えるために集められた「宝物」の類ではない。心にはそのようなものを蓄える場所もない。
「力の限り、見張って、あなたの心を見守れ。いのちの泉はこれからわく。」 箴言4:23 新改訳聖書
「財宝」とは「心」であり、「いのちの泉」である、湧き上がるいのちの源である。人はこれをそこ力の限り、見守らなければならない。
「財宝を天に蓄える」のは「湧き上がるいのちの泉」を天に置くことである。神のことばを心に保つことである。
価値観はかわらぬ土台をもち、知恵のことばはいのちを救う。
「わが子よ。私のことばをよく聞け。私の言うことに耳を傾けよ。
それをあなたの目から離さず、あなたの心のうちに保て。」
