「彼らのまねをしては ὁμοιόω ホモイオオー」は「～のようにする（同類の）、似せる、同じにする」で「彼らと同質、同類のことをするな」との意味。
ὁμοιόω はὅμοιος 「同様な、同種の、同じ」から来ている。

「必要なもの χρεία くレイア」は「欠けたもの」のことである。神は人に欠けているものを、あらかじめご存知である。

「彼らのまねをしては ὁμοιόω ホモイオオー」は「～のようにする（同類の）、似せる、同じにする」で「彼らと同質、同類のことをするな」との意味。
言葉の繰り返しがもたらす霊的恍惚は「異邦人のまね」であって、イエスの祈りではない。神は激しく祈れば答えられるお方ではない。すべての神からの答えは御心による。

神は私が「必要 χρεία くレイア 必要、必然、不足、欠乏、困窮、欠け」とするものを、私が気づく前から知っておられる。「必要、必然、不足、欠乏、困窮」への気づきと「求め χρεία くレイア」は神からくる。神によらなければ人は自己の「必要 χρεία くレイア」を知らない。人の真に必要とするものは、「神への必要 crei,a クレイア」である。
神は私に「必要、不足、欠乏、困窮、欠けていること」を私が気づく前に見抜かれている。あらかじめ「必要」に気づかれる神は、あらかじめ充たされる神である。「私」は神にありて充たされて居る。

「欠けた者」
人は自身に「欠けているもの（必要とするもの）」を本当には知らない。知ることを恐れる。しかし、「欠け」を知ることは幸いである。知ることができた瞬間に、それは「欠け」ではなくなっているからだ。そういう「知りかた」をしたい。人は欠け（必要とするところ）があって完全である。

人間は内に「欠け」をもつ。「欠け」をもって「完全」でる。「欠け」は私に「必要、必然」であると同時に「充足」されるべきものである。その双方が「今、ここ」の私として与えられている。

「效ふ」
漢字「效ふ」は「のっとる」の意味である。「彼の真似をする」は「彼をのっとる」ことである。それをすることに何の意味があろうか。
子どもは知らずに親を真似る。それが親の悪しきところを「のっとる」ことであることに、しばらくしてから気づく。

神は私たちが祈る前に、私たちが何を必要tositeiruかを知っておられる。祈りの答えは祈る前からすでに神の御手にある。私たちは祈りの答えの中に真に求めるべきものが何かを知るのである。
エリコ街道で二人の目の不自由な男が物乞いをしていた。そこにイエスが通りがかると二人は「主よ。私たちをあわれんでください。ダビデの子よ」と叫んだ。群衆は彼らを黙らせようとしたが、二人はますます声を励まして叫んだ。
すると、イエスは立ち止まられ、彼らを呼び、「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」と言われた。
彼らが何を求めているかは明白である。そこで、二人が「主よ。この目をあけていただきたいのです」と答えると、イエスは目にさわられ、病を癒されたので、彼らは見えるようになった。（マタイ20:29~34 新改訳聖書）
神は私たちが願うまえから何を求めているかをご存知である。しかし、人は自分のことばで思いを言いあらわさなければならない。自分が必要としているものが何であるかを真に気づく必要がある。
祈りは自分の欲しいものを神にねだる行為ではない。いのちの為に真に必要とするものが何であるかを知って求める行為である。
