「一切誓うな μὴ ὀμόσαι ὅλως」は「誓い ὀμνύω オムヌゆオー」の禁止でも廃止でもない。天や地、エルサレムや頭を指すような「誓い」を一切してはならないというイエスの教えである。
＜されど我は汝らに告ぐ、一切ちかふな＞
イエスの時代には「天、地、エルサレム、頭」を指して誓うことが行われた。「天、地、エルサレム、頭」を指せば、「神の名」にかけて誓うのではないから破っても問題はないと考えられたのである。人々は常に巧妙な逃げ道を探る。
＜天を指して誓ふな、神の御座なればなり＞
「天 οὐρανός ウーラノス」は神の居ます所、神の玉座である。「主はこう言われる。天はわたしの王座、地はわが足台」（イザヤ66:1） 神は天の玉座に座られ、その足は「地」に据えられる。天でなされることは地も受ける。天と地に神のとどかない領域は存在しない。
＜説き伏せたもうことなし＞
「なんじら主なる我らの神の計るところを束縛すな。神は人のごとく、おびやかされたまわず、また人のごとく、説き伏せたもうことなし」（旧約外典 ユデト書8:16）
神は人の「祈り」や「誓い」に、いささかも「束縛」されず、また「脅かされ、説き伏せられ」給わない。

「宗教の欺瞞」
イエスの時代には「天、地、エルサレム、頭」を指して誓うことが行われた。「天、地、エルサレム、頭」を指せば、「神の名」にかけて誓うのではないから破っても問題はないと考えられたのである。
人間は常にこの種の巧妙な逃げ道を考える。「然り」は「然り」、「否」は「否」と言うべきである。
宗教の欺瞞は、それに従う者を愚かにする。

「神の御座」

「天」は「神の御座」であり、「恵の御座」である。そこから「機（おり）に合ふ助け」がくる。

イエスは「一切誓うな」と明言された。しかし、それは「誓い」の禁止でも廃止ではない。
ユダヤ人の、天や地、エルサレムや頭を指すような「誓い」を一切してはならないと教えられたのである。
ユダヤ人は律法によって「神の名」を指しての誓いは取り消すことの出来ないとされた。
そこで、彼らは「神の名」ではなく「天、地、エルサレム、頭」等を指して誓えば、破っても問題にならないと考えられたのである。それは「律法」を逃れる巧妙な方法であった。
人間は神のことばを何とか無効にしようと知恵を絞る。
そもそも、「天 οὐρανός ウーラノス」は神の「王座」、「地」は神の「足台」である。
「主はこう言われる。天はわたしの王座、地はわが足台」（イザヤ66:1）
神は天の玉座に座られ、その足は「地」に据えられる。天でなされることは地も受ける。天と地に神のとどかない領域は存在しない。
したがって、「天、地、エルサレム、頭」を指して誓う者は、神をさして誓うのである。
神の御言葉を巧みに潜り抜けて、表面は信仰者の仮面を剥がされないですむような方法は存在しない。
存在するもののすべては、神によって創造され、神の栄光をあらわす。
